    Bona Dea Supplies

https://vimeo.com/601461516 Supplies and Materials Below is the list of all the items I used to create Bona Dea. You do not need to use the exact paints although they are super fun to use.  I found it a little difficult to find the 36 gauge wire on Amazon so you can always try looking at your local craft store. My suggestion as always is to do a quick overview of the videos before you decide what you need.   DOWNLOAD PDF Daniel Smith Watercolor Set Daniel Smith Yavapai 1 sheet 9×12 Arteza Expert Watercolor Paper or other 140 lb watercolor paper Graphite Paper- any brand Fine tip permanent marker/pen for mark…

Hand Made Hole Puncher with Polymer Clay

CREATING YOUR OWN NEEDLE PUNCH Although this is part of the Poppy Pod course, I decided to share it in the Gifies section.  This is a very quick and easy way to make your own hole puncher with a nice share needle. You can do more than just needles to use for tools when you create your projects.  I think as long as you can toast it without burning…go for it…metal objects are definitely the ideal kind!  Enjoy! https://vimeo.com/578256600 DOWNLOAD Items needed: 3 inch YARN DARNER needle scrap polymer clay or new clay toaster oven dedicated to your crafts Here is the example of the hand made punch and a…

These are my top 3 inspirational sites I go to when I need a little extra for my creativity.  These are already linked to poppy pods! Pexels.com Pixabay.com Unsplash.com

    PPod Wire Work

Wire Work https://vimeo.com/578249121 DOWNLOAD Below are images I hope will help you while doing your wire work.  STEM Step 1. insert the wire up through the back side. Leave about a 2 inch tail and tape it down. Skip one hole and insert the wire down through the hole. Step 2. pull the wire a little snug but not too tight as it can tear the paper. Step 3. insert the wire up through the middle hole. Double check the wire on the back side making sure there are no kinks in the wire.  Thin wire has a strong tendency to twist and bend when you dont want it to. …

    PPod Bead Work

As I am going through my videos again, I realized that there are some steps missing that I did not show you. My apologies for that!  I go through these videos so many times before I put the class up and there is always something I miss.  With that said, this is what I didnt show you in the videos… Once the painting is dry, I took all the tape off and glued the card together using Gel Medium.  This is very quick and easy and takes a short time to dry.  If you are using regular watercolor paper, cut it in half.  You should have 6×9 instead of 12×9. …

    PPod Painting

Before you watch the video, you will need to set up your work space.  Below is the line drawing which you will need to download and print.  FIRST, paint a thin layer of CLEAR GESSO before you tape down the paper.  Here is the link to the watercolor cards.  You do NOT need to use these cards, please use whatever watercolor paper you have on hand.  The main reason for using the clear gesso is It adds extra strength to the paper and you have less risk of tearing the paper while doing all of your beading, stitching and wirework.  If you have super heavy watercolor paper, you dont need…

    LRT – Painting Lizzy’s Face

Painting Lizzy’s Face – First attempt I will admit that this first video is not my best attempt at painting her face…Being that I had to deal with the dauber ink bleeding through, it caused some issues that I corrected on the next video below.  You do not need to watch this one unless you want to cringe!  LOL  But there are some good mistakes in this part that you may want to learn from before you paint Lizzy’s face. https://vimeo.com/574084819 DOWNLOAD Painting Lizzy’s Face Part 2 In this video you will see the corrections I had to go through to get the paints to blend nicely on her face. …

    CW Bonus

Bria Simone came about due to a technical error on my part. She is an additional creation of the Changing Wind series which I hope makes up for not having the last part of CW Right final creation.  Bria Simone was a little bit of a challenge to paint as she is much different than the other 3 paintings.  She is mostly painted and has very little added bits to make her shine. Bria Simone is a Brazilian Sea Goddess with striking hot pink and golden hair. She dances on the sandy beach  of the California coast with her simple grassy dress and lots of beads making their own music…

    CW – Right Doll

This is the Doll that I messed up on…yes… I somehow managed to not video the final process of creating  this beautiful creation.  But I do have a video below that I walk you through what I had done.  My suggestion is one you finish this video, review the video on the left doll  and left final touches as they are similar. This particular painting I used a technique called Asemic Drawing.  You can learn more about it on Wiki…gotta love Wiki..  Its basically writing words that are not really words because you are scribbling them.  You think they are a word because it looks like it could be one…or…
